Boil onions and tomatoes until soft. Blend with soaked cashews into a very smooth paste.

Heat ghee, add whole spices. Pour in the blended paste and cook 10 minutes until oil separates.

Add kashmiri chilli powder, cardamom, salt and a little water. Cook 5 minutes.

Add paneer cubes and cream. Simmer gently 5 minutes - do not boil hard or paneer will toughen.
